Moving Out of Maidstone From a Distance: Keys, Letting Agents and On-Site Managers

By the time the tenancy ends, some renters are no longer in town. Some of our Maidstone bookings come from people who have already moved out: one customer booked us from Scotland for a flat where another tenant was still living. Other clients left the town with the job or moved out on a Thursday, so cleaning has to be done after they move.
The good news is that we can clean while you’re away. This guide explains how to arrange keys, book and pay remotely, and get proof the home was left spotless. If you’re here only for the service details, visit our Maidstone move-out clean page.
Keys and access
Start with sorting this out. With the requests we get from Maidstone, most keys get in one of these two places:

- with the letting agent, often in the town centre; they will give the keys to the team on the day;
- with an on-site manager in a managed block. When a tenant moved out on a Thursday, she did it like that.
Whichever plans you want, fill us in, and we’ll do as instructed. If you move out of a block, find out whether contractors have to sign in. Is there a lift? Where can a vehicle park? With a Maidstone request, the job was for a second-floor flat in a block with a lift and parking available. Such details help us plan.
Inform us if someone else will be in on the day, like a flatmate who’s not moving out; we will plan accordingly.
Booking and paying from a distance
You don’t need to be in Maidstone to arrange the clean:
- go online and ask for a quote with your home’s specifications: bedrooms, bathrooms, carpets, anything that stays;
- you don’t pay a deposit;
- pay by card or bank transfer the day before the clean;
- if plans change, cancelling up to 24 hours before is free.
When you’ve already moved out, timing is important. More than half of the Maidstone requests we get come just a week before the cleaning; outside the summer peak, we typically have available slots. Ask for a clean as soon as you know your move-out date.
Proof when you weren't there
With a remote move-out, people worry the most about not being able to see the result. However, we end the clean with three things you can store:

- a signed cleaning checklist, room by room;
- an invoice;
- before-and-after photos.
Put them with your check-in inventory. If your landlord or agent questions the cleaning at the check-out, you can show them proof of what was cleaned and when.
If something falls short, there’s no need for you to return and fix it. Tell us with photos within 7 days. We’ll come back and re-clean for free. This guarantee is for the standard of our clean. Damage, rent arrears, and other issues can also lead to deposit deductions.
When a flatmate is not moving out
Remote move-outs can be tricky in shared flats. When you move out and the other tenants don’t, you’re probably responsible only for your room, plus a share of the kitchen and bathroom. Check your tenancy agreement to get the details.
Since we do partial cleans, our team can clean only your room, or your room and the shared areas. They won’t clean the rest of the place. When you ask for a quote, please tell us what you want us to clean.
Leaving the rest to us
Did you leave furniture or rubbish behind? We can help, as we also do house clearances. If necessary, we clear and clean on the same day. Read the Maidstone move-out guide to learn about the council's own bulky waste service and the Kent recycling centre. Do your carpets need more than a vacuum? Add carpet cleaning to the move-out clean; you’ll only pay 40% of the carpet cleaning standard price.
